I flew to LA on thursday to attend my company's aquisition party, a debauched event full of interesting people and unique talents. Two of my best friends live here so I was able to spend the weekend with both of them. It made me realize how much I miss them.

Seoul was surprising. I never imagined such a highly technologically and fashionably sophisticated city. We took a trip to the DMZ, the highlight photos is of Song and his cousin looking into North Korea.

Thailand is beautiful, we spent most of our time at the Banyan Tree, as it rained our stay. But the villa was gorgeous, and time seemed to stand still.

Avid fans of artery damage, Naoya and I headed to the corndog-o-rama festival last weekend. A misread citysearch guide and $34 entry fee landed us at nathan's hot dog eating contest in the Atlanta zoo instead. (2 separate hot dog events in one weekend?) What struck me when I entered the tent was the line up of contestants. There were about 15 large, sweating men in overalls, ketchup and mustard smeared all over their shirts, and in the middle, this small woman, probably in her late 60's, wearing a hot pink t-shirt and shoving frankfurters, double fisted, into her mouth. The crowd was going crazy screaming "gramma" like a pack of 5 year olds lost in a K-mart. In the end, gramma put the others to shame by consuming 23 hotdogs, (closest anyone came to her was 17) The best part came at the end when she pulled out a tube of hot pink lipstick, applied it expertly and then accepted her trophy � a true southern gem.
